A first for the Irish Dental Hygienists Association and Ireland!!
September 12th 2015 will prove to be a significant date in Ireland’s role within the European dental community when the European Federation of Dental Hygienists (EDHF) annual meeting will take place in The Gibson Hotel, Dublin Docklands. The IDHA won the bid to host this prestigious meeting in Amsterdam last year. The EDHF comprises of a three member board and sixteen member countries with the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT) the most recent. The aim of this meeting is to develop and promote Dental Hygiene in Europe alongside the aim to gain EU recognition for the term Dental Hygienist www.efdh.eu for full aims and objectives.
The EDHF meeting has proved to be of such significance that Failte Ireland has already sponsored our evening event on Saturday 12th to the Jameson Barrel Feast. The Convention Centre Dublin has invited the EDHF members to view the fantastic facilities Dublin has to offer international conferences, as the IDHA have announced their intention to bid for the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene 2022 at the ISDH next year in Basel, Switzerland.
