The sample Practice Privacy Statement has been developed to address the eight principles of data protection with which all data controllers must comply. It is also designed to help you complete a data protection audit.
The sample Practice Privacy Statement refers almost exclusively to the collection of personal data solely for the purpose of providing dental care to your patients. It does not take into account issues that arise if personal data is gathered for marketing purposes. Please be aware that the Data Protection Commissioner considers ‘check-up’ reminders to be a form of marketing unlike a reminder of an impending appointment made by a patient.
