North Munster Branch - Meeting - Management and maintenance of the periodontal patient

The North Munster branch of the IDA will hold a meeting entitled "Management and maintenance of the periodontal patient" on Wednesday 29th February 2012 at 7.30pm in the Strand Hotel, Limerick.

CPD Points : 1.5HOURS.

The speaker is Dr Emily Clarke

Correct management and maintenance of a patient with a history of periodontal disease and treatment is necessary to ensure ongoing periodontal health.
This may involve botn maintenance therapy and active treatment phases and can involve various members of the dental team. Dr. Clarke intends to discuss
the fundamentals of this ongoing treatment cycle and its various components.

Dr. Emily Clarke graduated from the Dental School and Hospital winning the Sheldon-Friel award for 1st place in her final dental exams in 2001. She then worked as a House Officer in the Dublin Dental Hospital, as a general dentist in the HSE and the private sector and as a Senior House Officer in Maxillofacial Units in the UK and in the Mid Western Regional Hospital, Limerick. In 2004 Emily became a member of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons. She then embarked on a three year full time postgraduate specialist training programme in Periodontology and Implantology at the Dublin Dental School qualifying with a first class honours doctorate in Periodontology in 2008 and later received a diploma of accreditation from the European Federation of Periodontology. Since then Emily has been working as a Periodontist in practice limited to Periodontology and Implant dentistry in Galway. She has a special interest in the treatment of periodontal disease, soft tissue grafting procedures for the treatment of recession, cosmetic and prosthetic related periodontal procedures and Implantology. Emily is now providing these services in Limerick in Eastgate House every Friday initially although she plans to expand to full time as the practice develops.
