Professor Raymond Bertolotti is a giant in the history of bonding, literally coined the phrase “adhesion dentistry” in 1985. While he is perhaps best known for bringing the total etch technique to North America, Dr. Bertolotti also introduced Caries Detector in 1984, Panavia in 1985, cantilevered PFM adhesion bridges in 1986, intraoral tin plating in 1989, self-etching primers in 1992, HealOzone in 2004, and cantilevered zirconia adhesion bridges in 2017. The sectional Contact Matrix system, "MicroPrime B", Accolade PV, "Microetcher" air-abrasion, and intraoral tin-plating are also his innovations. He is a well-known international lecturer, having presented at all of the major dental meetings such as the annual American Dental Association, Hinman, Chicago Midwinter, annual British Dental BDA Meetings and invited lectures in over 30 countries.

Professor Edward Lynch continues to work in specialist referral practice in Wimpole St, London as a GDC registered specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics and Prosthodontics and researches and supervises Dentists performing clinical PhD theses in the UK. He has enjoyed his recent time as Professor and Director of Clinical and Biomedical Research in the USA, being Head of Dentistry in the University of Warwick, Professor and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in Queens University Belfast, and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals. He was awarded The Prestigious 2022 Distinguished Scientist Award in Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology from the International Association for Dental Research. He is also listed in the Top 100 Doctors in Dentistry and has previously been voted the most influential person in UK Dentistry by readers of “Dentistry”, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the BDA President, is a Freeman of the City of London, has more than 600 publications and is an active editorial board member of numerous international journals including Nature, Scientific Reports.
