THE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED IN THE BUDGET FOR 2010 THAT FROM THE 1ST JANUARY 2010 TREATMENT AVAILABLE UNDER THE DENTAL TREATMENT BENEFIT SCHEME WILL BE LIMITED TO AN ORAL EXAMINATION ONLY.
The Scheme currently provides a number of different types of dental treatment including: Dental examination, Diagnosis, Scaling & Polishing (including mild gum treatment). In order to avail of your entitlement to these treatments you must obtain approval from the Department of Social and Family Affairs prior to the 31st of December 2009. You should contact your dentist prior to the 31st of December 2009 otherwise your benefit may be lost.
In order to qualify for benefit you must satisfy certain PRSI conditions. For more information on the Treatment Benefit Scheme, contact your local Social Welfare Office or your dentist:
