Engaging with members is a top priority for new President, Dr Rory Boyd, who took over as President of the Association from Dr Eamon Croke at the AGM which took place in the RCSI last Thursday.

The Irish Dental Association has today (18th April 2024) announced that Dr Rory Boyd has been appointed as its new President.

IDA members employed in the HSE and the Cork and Dublin dental schools have voted to accept the new public service pay agreement. The Association had recommended acceptance of the agreement.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Irish Dental Association will commence at 7pm on Thursday 18th of April, 2024 in the Albert Theatre, RCSI, Dublin.

Statement from the President of the Irish Dental Association, Eamon Croke: “We fully support and share the Dental Council’s concerns regarding the serious risk to patient safety as a result of a lack of regulation of the practice of dentistry in Ireland."

“We are alarmed at the revelations contained in this evening’s RTÉ Prime Time Investigates report. We are urgently calling on the Government to immediately move to amend outdated legislation which is leaving patients open to risk and harm."

New survey from Irish Dental Association shows one in six patients are waiting over 3 months for an elective appointment, while more than half of patients are being forced to wait longer than 3 months for specialist care.
